TENNESSEE — Time for Equality in Adventist Ministry (TEAM) is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Sister Daisy O’Connor on August 8, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Pastor Luis O’Connor, Vice President of the Cuban Seminary, and a faithful partner in ministry.
After being placed on life support for 48 hours following a tragic accident, Daisy’s life was compassionately given to others through organ donation. Friends and loved ones lined the hospital corridor as she was wheeled away, singing “Shall We Gather at the River.” The procession paused as Pastor O’Connor offered a heartfelt prayer, moving all in attendance to tears before bidding his final good-byes.
Sister Daisy was more than a faithful wife—she was a mentor and caretaker to the women of the Cuban Seminary. Through her encouragement, motivation, and prayerful presence, she became a source of strength for countless women in ministry. She worked tirelessly alongside TEAM, serving as a beacon of hope and support for those in need.
Together with her husband, Daisy helped sustain the seminary during challenging times by raising funds to ship food containers through Panama to students and faculty. Her commitment to service extended beyond her own family, shaping lives with grace, compassion, and unwavering faith.
Pastor O’Connor, though grieving deeply, continues his work as a chaplain for Hispanic patients and remains devoted to the mission of the Cuban Seminary. Their son, a pastor in Singapore, is unable to enter the United States due to visa restrictions, adding to the family’s burden.
TEAM invites all to join in prayer for Pastor O’Connor, for the Cuban Seminary, and for the many lives touched by Daisy’s ministry. While her passing leaves a profound void, her legacy endures as a testimony of Christ-centered leadership and faith.
We take comfort in the blessed hope of Jesus’ soon return, when we will be reunited with those who sleep in Him.
